In order to protect Phnom Bakheng site, APSARA authority allows only 300 visitors to climb up Phnom Bakeng each time.
In the morning, departure for the visit of the Beng Mealea temple, built as a Hindu temple, but some carvings depict Buddhist motifs. Its primary material is sandstone and it is largely unrestored, with trees and thick brush thriving amidst its towers and courtyards and many of its stones lying in great heaps.
Visit of the small but architecturally magnificent temple of Banteay Srey, which is one of the best remaining examples of Khmer classical art, built in the 10th century. Dedicated to Shiva, this striking building supports a number of exquisite sculptures and friezes delicately worked in the pink sandstone.
Then stop at a typical Cambodia village, Preah Dak, where you will discover local people’s daily life, before going to visit Banteay Samre. It consists of a central temple with four wings preceded by a hall and accompanied by two libraries. Enjoy the sunset over Phnom Bakeng (depending on the weather condition of the day).
